J.R. Prewitt & Associates Welcomes Alexander Kontomitras to the Team

J.R. Prewitt & Associates is excited to welcome Alexander Kontomitras to the team as a Commercial Risk Consultant! In this role, Alexander will be responsible for bringing in new clients and educating new prospects on the changing risks to their current business. To learn more about Alexander, check out this Q&A:

Q: What made you want to work for J.R. Prewitt?

A: I liked that J.R. Prewitt is family-owned and operated. I liked their business model and that everything is in-house and all under one roof. After working in the banking industry for several years, when I decided to switch industries I felt confident that they would give me all the tools I need to be successful. This can be a cutthroat business for young consultants, so I felt really good about the amount of support and guidance they provide.

Q: What are you most excited about/looking forward to in your new position?

A: I’m definitely excited to get to know more people in the business world in Birmingham. I enjoy calling on businesses and learning how their companies operate and, ultimately, solving problems for clients.

Q: What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

A: That you need to scrap like the third monkey trying to get on the ark and it started raining. Noah only took two of each animal on his ark, so if you’re the third monkey trying to get on the ark and it starts raining, you better be hustling.

Q: What are three words that describe you?

A: Energetic. Outgoing. Loyal.

Q: What’s something most people would be surprised to learn about you?

A: I love to make pottery and have a pottery wheel at my house. I make vases and bowls. My next goal is to work on a coffee mug set.

Q: What will your desk look like in 6 months?

A: Organized chaos.

Q: Favorite movie/TV show quote?

A: “In a negotiation, nobody leaves happy” -Bobby Axelrod (Billions)

Q: Favorite travel spot/vacation?

A: I think New York is a great place to visit, lots of great restaurants, bars and endless activities packed into 11 miles. I also enjoy going to Lake Martin on most weekends.

Q: Favorite spot to hangout in Birmingham? (Restaurant, park, brewery, bar, etc.!)

A: Ollie Irene in Crestline Village, El Barrio and you’ll catch me at M-Power at lunch on Fridays.

Q: Hobbies?

A: Just normal married stuff. Grilling out, walking my dog and relaxing.

Q: Anything you want to add about family, pets or personal life?

A: My wife’s name is Carolyne, and we have a little dog named Annie. She’s a 19-pound miniature Golden Doodle.
